If your city or state is implementing new measures for public health reasons, the reality is that if you are the average Joe, like me, there is not much you can do about it. But, something that you can absolutely influence and change, is your own mind, body and probably your household. The narrative we tell our minds is crucial to our happiness and well-being. Here are some lockdown ideas you can try:
Do a monthly challenge
Drink more water, exercise every day, don’t buy anything from Amazon (that’s a tough one), drink tea instead of coffee, etc.
Learn a new skill
Watch YouTube videos, read blogs online, register for a free online course. Check out Coursera.
Declutter
If you don’t know where to start, check out my previous post, Decluttering for beginners.
Stay connected
Catch up with people you haven’t spoken to for a long time.
Plan
Brainstorm ideas and plan the upcoming months. It could be a summer project or a weekend getaway.
Read 1 book
Prepare a nice cup of coffee or tea and enjoy your reading under a warm blanket. Don’t know what to read? Check our my Book Recommendations!
Review your subscriptions
Do you use the services of a subscription provider at least 3 times a week? If the answer is no, you could find cheaper or free alternatives. Cancel any subscriptions that you don’t use.
Review your banking fees
Do you pay monthly fees? Is there any other bank that offers free banking? Do your homework.
Adopt a pet
Local shelters always have the need for a forever home for dogs and cats. If you can afford it and want some company, start the paperwork.
Find some time to sit down and write down some lockdown ideas of your own. Try at least 1 tomorrow and see how things go.
